Job Title: Claims Examiner- Professional
Overview: Join our dynamic claims team as a key player in evaluating professional claims such as Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, and Cyber Liability. We value analytical thinkers and creative problem solvers who can effectively navigate coverage, liability, and damage assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Claims Handling: Manage claims from inception to resolution, ensuring thorough investigations and documentation.
- Coverage Confirmation: Analyze the first notice of loss and interpret policy language to confirm coverage.
- Communication: Draft position letters (e.g., disclaimers, reservations of rights) and maintain clear communication with policyholders, underwriting, and actuarial teams.
- Investigation: Gather facts, statements, and documents; identify joint tortfeasors and witnesses; and conduct scene investigations.
- File Management: Set initial reserves and adjust as needed, maintaining proactive management of claims toward settlement or trial.
- Customer Service: Respond to internal and external inquiries promptly, adhering to established service standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 to 7 years in claims handling or comparative litigation; experience with professional claims preferred.
- Education: Advanced degrees or JD, along with relevant designations (CPCU, AEI, RPLU, INS) are a plus.
- Licenses: Appropriate state licenses are required.
