Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Convert MS Access Databases: Migrate existing MS Access databases from 2016 32-bit to 2024 64-bit versions, ensuring data integrity and functionality.
- Database Automation: Develop and implement complex stored procedures in SQL Server to automate MS Access databases, enhancing efficiency and performance.
- Database Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain MS Access databases, including tables, queries, forms, reports, and switchboards.
- VBA and Macros: Upgrade existing VBA code and write new, enhanced VBA code and macros to automate tasks and improve database functionality.
- Data Integration: : Leverage SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to efficiently integrate and transform data from multiple sources.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.
- User Support and Training: Provide support and training to end-users.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for database structures, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in building and maintaining MS Access databases.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Access, including tables, queries, forms, reports, and switchboards.
- Strong knowledge of VBA and macros, with the ability to upgrade existing code and write enhanced VBA code.
- Experience with SQL Server, including complex stored procedures and SSIS.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and end-users.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
