Applications for Adjunct Faculty will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed as needed. Applicants should indicate which campus or teaching sites they are willing to accept these interim assignments at in their cover letter.
Job Summary
Adjunct faculty members facilitate students' achievement of course objectives and prepares the students to master skill sets to move forward throughout the program. Adjunct faculty members may be needed in all areas of music instruction, including but not limited to, applied music, music education, music theory, music history, jazz studies, and conducting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Adhere to the lesson, rehearsal, or class schedules as posted.
2. Communicate course requirements to students.
3. Be available to assigned students for support and course advising including exams, required remediation, and summative evaluations.
4. Collaborate with other SOM faculty as well as the Director to plan, implement and evaluate each course offering taught to maintain quality and effectiveness
5. Follow the policies and procedures of the School of Music, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
