Job Summary
Management,
implementation and monitoring of database systems and the infrastructure
necessary to support them.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains and
upgrades all oracle and Microsoft SQL server database software, services and infrastructure. This includes database server platforms,
database support systems, integration systems, along with client
installation software and drivers.
- Consults with staff to
review database needs, answer technical questions, recommend solutions,
provide database resources and database support for in-house and vendor
purchased applications software. This includes assisting them with application upgrades.
- Monitors databases for
performance/reliability and implements pro-active measures to ensure
performance/reliability. Troubleshoots and resolves performance/reliability issues if they
arise.
- Ensures database
integrity and ensures database recoverability in all situations for
production systems.
- Develops and maintains
database and dictionary standards, security and controls, and integration
standards.
- Determines the impact of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server patches or change in process and procedures and develops plans for implementation. Performs other duties as assigned.
