Job Summary
The Gift and Data Specialist processes gifts for all types of contributions to the Foundation. Assists with record management in the constituent database. Receives and responds to simple giving inquiries from donors, faculty, and staff. Assists with other database-related special projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Processes gifts for all types of contributions to the Foundation, including, but not limited to, cash gifts, matching gifts, pledges, pledge payments, bank drafts, payroll deductions, credit card gifts, online credit card gifts, recurring gifts, planned gifts, stock gifts, and in-kind gifts. Determines appropriate gift designations by reviewing accompanying documentation prior to entry and alerts appropriate staff to special gift situations. During gift entry, verifies biographical information with existing data, updating as needed and creates new records when needed, paying special attention to addressee and salutation information to ensure proper receipting and acknowledgement of gifts. Ensures each gift batch contains requisite documentation of gift transactions.
- Assists with record management in the constituent database, including name, contact information, addressee/salutations, business information, relationships, and involvements for returned mail, call center updates, data validation queries and other projects as needed.
- Assists with matching gift and pledge procedures as needed.
- Assists with simple gift adjustments.
- Receives and responds to simple giving inquiries from donors, faculty, and staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
