Job Summary
Responsible for integrating, maintaining, and operating
the simulation and information technology for the CNHP, including computer and
AV technology for the mannequin and surrounding simulation equipment. Manages
simulation room and mannequin set-up and take down, the application of moulage,
and recording and playback of simulations. Supports immersive simulation
experiences and other scheduled patient simulation learning activities. This
position has no responsibility for providing direct care to patients. This
position collaborates and works closely with the Simulation Center Coordinator
and the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Simulation. This position is
also responsible for maintaining day to day information technology
functionality for faculty, staff, and students; and project planning.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Programs software to model simulators’ physiological responses to instructor specifications. Supports/assists in role-playing applications, props placement, and moulage setup before and after simulations to create a virtual healthcare setting. Operates simulation mannequin sessions based on priority identified by the Simulation Center Coordinator.
- Assists the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Simulation and Simulation Center Coordinator with training faculty in the use of simulation equipment and serves as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation.
- Operates and maintains AV equipment used in the simulation.
- Attends meetings or continuing education to maintain currency with simulation and information technology and use.
- Creates and oversees technical projects in alignment with organizational goals and collaboration with the Dean, Simulation Center Coordinator, school directors, program coordinators, faculty, and appropriate Dean’s Office staff.
- Assists with creating and maintaining financial budgets for the Simulation Center, as well as the Technology budgets, in collaboration with the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Simulation and Simulation Center Coordinator.
- Researches and recommends new products for simulation and information technology in collaboration with the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Simulation and Simulation Center Coordinator.
- Assists with day-to-day operations of faculty and staff’s technology needs throughout the CNHP.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
