Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month faculty position as
a Student Research and Scholarship Success Coordinator/Full Teaching Professor,
Tenure Track in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, School of Leadership
and Advanced Nursing Practice. The Student Research and Scholarship Success Coordinator will provide support and service to doctoral candidates during the doctoral project and/or dissertation process. Will serve as the chair and/or committee member to provide guidance to candidates throughout the entire doctoral project and/or dissertation development and completion. Qualified applicants with research experience, along with teaching/practice experience are welcome to apply. The Student Research and Scholarship Success Coordinator will also potentially develop and teach graduate and upper-level undergraduate courses and contribute broadly to our thriving BSN, RN-BSN, DNP, and Ph.D. programs as well as perform other duties as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary contact for assigned doctoral students mentoring them through the program
- Serves on doctoral candidates’ project/dissertation committees primarily as a chair, may serve as a member.
- Reviews candidate project/dissertation proposals and drafts and provide substantive feedback and guidance.
- Supports candidates in completing necessary doctoral processes such as submissions for internal reviews and IRB approvals.
- Stays current on school, college, and university policies and procedures related to doctoral programs and the project/dissertation process as outlined in the DNP Project Manual and Dissertation Handbook.
- Maintains timely and consistent communication with doctoral candidates , committee members, school and college staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Maintains a collaborative professional relationship as the project/dissertation chair with the doctoral student and committee member(s).
- Provides stability and support to doctoral candidates through a multi-year commitment to the candidates assigned to you.
- May be required to develop and teach graduate courses and potentially upper-level undergraduate courses.
- Contribute
broadly to our thriving graduate and undergraduate nursing programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
