Job Summary
The School of Education at The University of Southern Mississippi
(USM) invites applicants for one full-time, Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor
position beginning in August 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic
research, evaluation, statistics, and assessment [RESA] program. The RESA
graduate program faculty currently provide training with concentrations in
advanced statistics, advanced research design, measurement, and program
evaluation. We are especially
interested in candidates with backgrounds in educational research that include
the use of large-scale K-12 data and/or that focus on development and analysis
of educational interventions. The doctoral program emphasizes research
mentorship, diversity, and graduate teaching. Our faculty have established
records of scholarship in the areas of research design, educational
foundations, measurement, and statistics. We aim to recruit applicants who will produce impactful research, and
who will emphasize training doctoral students to become productive and
thoughtful researchers. The School of Education’s RESA programs include
a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Students
taking our courses come from diverse graduate programs both within and
outside of the school. Program
delivery includes face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. Qualified applicants will be prepared to contribute
to the teaching mission of the School of Education that has approximately 700
students across six different program areas.

- Facilitating research design, analysis, and implementation.
- Teaching and mentoring students across programs.
- Demonstrating an understanding of cultural competence.
- Contributing to the mission of the university and profession through service activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
