Job Summary
Adjunct faculty members within the School of Leadership facilitate student achievement of course objectives consistent with academic program requirements and prepares both undergraduate and graduate students to matriculate through the following School of Leadership programs:
- Accounting (BSBA) – Our AACSB-accredited program provides students with the foundation for a successful accounting career and the opportunity for internships with leading accounting firms. Can include both online and in-person classes.
- Applied Technology (BAS) – Offers a pathway for two-year career technical and/or military transfer students to expand their leadership skills beyond their technical competencies. All classes are fully online.
- Business Administration (BSBA & MBA) – Provides students with functional knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, management, and marketing that may be applied in a variety of business, non-profit, and government settings. Both degrees can be completed online or in-person.
- Human Capital Development (MS & PhD) – Prepares scholar-practitioners who apply human capital analytics, performance interventions, change leadership, and strategic planning to develop human capital development solutions. MS degree is fully online and the PhD is offered in an executive format.
- Industrial Engineering Technology (BS) – Focuses on industrial systems design, integration, and management using analytical and computational tools to improve productivity and solve problems. All classes are fully online.
- Industrial Engineering Technology in Logistics (BS) – Integrates industrial engineering technology foundations with logistics and supply chain management tools and best practices to promote organizational success. All classes are fully online.
- Instructional Technology and Design (MS & PhD Emphasis; Graduate Certificate) – Applies instructional design processes to create successful learning and development solutions for public and private sector organizations. The instructional technology and design courses are fully online.
- Logistics, Trade, and Transportation (MS) - Teaches a systematic approach to balance the demands of logistics, trade, and transportation with supply chain management strategies. All classes are fully online.
- Organizational Leadership (BSBA) – This degree program prepares students to navigate the challenges surrounding the rapidly developing Blue Economy. The programs’ unique combination of business skills, leadership, human capital development, organizational logistics, decision analytics, and strategic marketing communications offers limitless potential. Classes are offered both online and in-person.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Online and/or face-to-face course delivery and instruction.
- Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
- Follow policies and procedures of the School of Leadership, College of Business and Economic Development, and The University of Southern Mississippi.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
