Job Summary:
The School of Polymer Science and Engineering (SPSE) at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2025. Applications are encouraged from exceptional candidates with research interests in any area of contemporary polymer science and engineering, with particular interest in polymer synthesis related to health and biomedical applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Build an externally funded, internationally recognized research program
- Provide exceptional, high-impact teaching in undergraduate and graduate courses in polymer science and engineering, fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate student research with an emphasis on effective mentorship and professional development
- Contribute to the mission of the school, college, university, and scientific community through professional service
- Perform other duties as assigned
