Job Summary
The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a nine-month position at the level of instructor specializing in graphic design, photojournalism, and multimedia instruction in the School of Media & Communication within the College of Arts and Sciences to begin Fall 2025. Applications are welcome from those with experience across a wide array of topics within the multimedia communication fields, especially including skills in social media, visual, and graphic skills.
The successful candidate will teach four courses each semester. Opportunity exists to work with the school’s Student Media Center as well as a variety of other student organizations. Primary teaching responsibilities will include graphic design, photojournalism, and introductory multimedia courses focusing on writing, social media, and basic visual presentation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in the multimedia program, including graphic design, photojournalism, and other journalism – or strategic communication-related courses
- Engage in student recruitment
- Fulfill service duties such as committee and program advancement assignments
- Contribute to the mission of the school, college, university, and wider community through campus and professional service
- Other duties as assigned
