Job Summary
The Outreach
Coordinator will work in the USM Center for Behavioral Health supporting the Screening,
Outreach, Assessment, & Resilience (SOAR) Program. The SOAR Program is a
new addition of specialty services in the CBH which is targeted to identify and
treat Mississippians at risk for developing psychosis or experiencing early
psychosis. The Outreach Coordinator will be directly responsible for the day-to-day
implementation of outreach activities and educational presentations in support
of recruitment for the SOAR Program. The Outreach Coordinator is a grant-funded
position through the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA; award number H79SM089799).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Works closely with the
Project Director, CBH Director, Program Coordinator, and leadership team
to develop and implement outreach activities across the state of Mississippi.
- Coordinates outreach
events and travels state-wide in support of SOAR Program outreach and to
attend relevant conferences.
- Generates new and
cultivates existing primary and secondary outreach efforts with community
referral partners.
- Develops and presents
educational materials about psychosis and high-risk states as well as
services offered by the CBH SOAR Program.
- Coordinates SOAR Program
outreach efforts with team members at the Mississippi Department of Mental
Health, Mississippi State University, and Open Up Mississippi.
- Tracks data related to
outreach activities and works with the Program Coordinator in support of
required SAMHSA reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
