Job Summary
The School of Management in the College of Business and Economic Development at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship to begin in August 2025. This position is focused on teaching, mentoring, and engaging with the entrepreneurial community. We seek a dynamic individual with significant professional experience in entrepreneurship or related fields to prepare students for success in launching and managing innovative ventures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, and related subjects.
- Design and deliver experiential learning opportunities, including startup simulations, case studies, and business plan competitions.
- Foster relationships with the local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, investors, and small business support organizations.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate entrepreneurship into interdisciplinary programs across the university.
- Support and participate in college events, such as the Inspired Leaders Series, pitch competitions, and community engaged initiatives.
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure relevance and alignment with industry trends.
- Maintain active engagement in professional development and networking within the entrepreneurship community.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
