Job Purpose:
Maintain an aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. As assigned cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience: 1 year hospital housekeeping experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all trash collection inside and outside the facility.
- Assists with stocking of department supplies and clean linen.
- Coordinates with staff and supervisor to attend to emergency cleaning for spills.
- Uses appropriate chemicals and techniques when washing and cleaning restrooms.
- Washes basins, commodes, tubs, and showers, checking and cleaning mirrors, soap dishes, water pipes and exterior surfaces. Including periodic cleaning of high ledges, ceiling and light fixtures, and vents
- Dry and damp mops or machine scrubs and corridors according to assigned schedule. Sweeps and spot washes corridor and landing walls.
- Adhere to all safety requirements.
- Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job‑related hazards.
- Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
- Wears proper identification while on duty.
- Perform other duties as assigned
