About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled RN Circulator to join our team at USMD Arlington. As an RN Circulator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during surgical procedures. Our scope of service includes Urology, Colon and Rectal Surgery, General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Endoscopy, Spine Surgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology (ENT), and Pain Management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Texas license as a Registered Nurse
- Current in BLS and ACLS (or able to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Minimum two years previous OR experience
- Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to operating room nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, physicians, patients and families
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures
- Coordinate and oversee the operating room during the case as the circulator
- Relay appropriate hand off communication to PACU staff to ensure continuity of care
- Address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs/responses of the patient
- Demonstrates knowledge and follow AORN standards and hospital policies
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change
As an RN Circulator, you will utilize your knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and communicate effectively with the surgical team. Attention to detail and the ability to think critically will be essential in this role. Additionally, proficiency in electronic medical records will be beneficial. Overall, your skills will be critical in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the success of our surgical team.
