Responsible for all Facility billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities and supervision of billing and collections personnel. Responsible for achieving cash collection and AR goals for the Facility. Works with other department heads to ensure compliance with all financial regulatory and other requirements.

  • Interacts with home office billing team and payers to define billing requirements and ensures prompt payment of claims.
  • Must have an understanding of Accounts Receivable
  • Must have an understanding of Accounts Payable.
  • Confidentiality and privacy of all data, including patient, employee and operations data
  • Supports and participates in common teamwork.
  • Uses tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive and emotional situations
  • Hire, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is directly responsible for leading the billing office team and for supervising all employees with in the division.

1.     Bachelor’s degree in a business, financial or related field or equivalent work experience.

2.     Five or more years of accounting experience in a hospital setting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

  • Will be required to lift charts frequently requiring the ability to lift 25 pounds or more
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Dexterity: Frequent repetitive motion of hands/write involved
  • Will be working in a clean, well-lighted area
  • May be required to deal with the unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care and patient activities
  • Hazards and Risks: Direct patient contact with the possible exposure to communicable diseases, exposure to radiation and CRT

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the business office staff.
