Hiring a IT Technician at Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery
The Information technology technician is a staff position within the IT support group accountable for ensuring continuity of computer system services for computer users by providing the technical expertise, assistance and project coordination necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Assure continuity of the computer system for all system users.
- Install selected software and hardware products.
- Repair hardware as necessary and work closely with service vendors to ensure continuity of service.
- Support phone and internet system throughout the hospital
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in information technology.
- Install and troubleshoot network printers.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to users as needed.
- Recommend changes in software and hardware to improve computer capabilities.
- Assist in implementing practices that will more effectively utilize IT resources.

Required Experience:
- Associates degree or equivalent education required.
- Candidate must have at least 2 -5 years of hands on IT experience
- Excellent typing and computer skills
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary.
- Ability to get along well with other people/coworkers/patients.
- Ability to project a positive team attitude.
- Steady attendance and flexibility in schedule.
