We have 5 OR rooms. Our technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: Robotic Assisted Surgery, Bariatrics, Total Joint Replacement, Colon & Rectal Surgery, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management, Gastroenterology, Podiatry, Direct Screen Colonoscopy, Spinal Surgery. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Sterile Processing Department Team Lead at Durango Outpatient Surgery Center
Under the general supervision of the Administrator / Clinician Director, coordinates and oversees the daily activities between the Operating Room (OR), schedule and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to ensure efficient case flow and needs.
1. Supervise the Sterile Processing Department Staff
2. Clinical resource for perioperative services staff members using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards
3. Evaluate current practice through quality and performance improvement measures
4. Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders
5. Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change with in the health care organization
6. Ensure that the appropriate personnel, equipment, and supplies are available to run the SPD department effectively
7. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care
8. Use effective conflict resolution techniques
9. Participate in interviews for staff selection for SPD department
10. Assist in evaluating staff members performance
11. Serve as role model of professional behavior
12. Assess the political climate within the organization
13. Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization

Required Skills: -
Qualifications
· High School Diploma/GED
· CPR required
· Graduate of a Sterile Processing Program
Certified Sterile Processor Preferred
· 2 years' experience in a multi-specialty operating room environment to include knowledge of sterile processing operations and issues
· Knowledge of medical instruments and surgical procedures as related to the OR
· Knowledge of the proper set up of an operating room
· Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with physicians, surgeons, operating room staff and other healthcare professionals
· Good computer skills
· Ability to handle multiple tasks successfully
· Demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities
