Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the operating room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and adhering to aseptic technique.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.
2. Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians' preference cards.
3. Inspect equipment for proper working condition.
4. Follow principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures.
5. Adhere to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure.
6. Arrange instruments according to given procedure.
7. Confirm that instruments work properly.
8. Maintain availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.
9. Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policy.
10. Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed.
11. Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety.
12. Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedure.
13. Assists in storing and stocking supplies as directed.
14. Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons' preference cards.
15. Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
16. Documents patient-care records and other forms according to facility policies and procedures.
17. Accurately advises others responsible for care of the patient about the patient's status.
18. Assists with room turnover/room cleaning throughout the day for optimal patient flow.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification as required by state and/or center.
• 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties.
• BLS Certification.
