Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at USPI Hyde Park Surgery Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Admit patients to the clinical area and provide nursing care to preoperative patients, developing individualized nursing care plans as needed.
- Assess patients entering the postoperative phase of treatment in the Post-Operative Care Unit (PACU), evaluating their condition and readiness for discharge.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Texas Nursing License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACU.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to pre-operative and PACU nursing.
- Clinical proficiency in pre-op/PACU nursing skills, demonstrating expertise in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Previous experience in cross-training or working in multiple clinical areas.
Work Environment:
This position requires weekday work only, with no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required, with flexibility to adjust schedules based on surgical needs.
