SURGICAL SCRUB TECH - PART TIME
Teton Outpatient Services seeks a Part Time Surgical Technologist.
Job Summary:
Ensure proper care and use of surgical instruments. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.
- Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians' preference cards.
- Inspect equipment for proper working condition.
- Follow principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Confirm that instruments work properly.
- Maintain availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.
- Report observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and take action according to policy.
- Correctly use, care for, clean, and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed.
- Handle equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety.
- Assist in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedure.
- Assist in storing and stocking supplies as directed.
- Maintain and update instrument cards and surgeons' preference cards.
- Respond in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
- Document patient-care records and other forms according to facility policies and procedures.
- Accurately advise others responsible for care of the patient about the patient's status.
- Assist with room turnover/room cleaning throughout the day for optimal patient flow.

Required Skills:
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification as required by state and/or center.
- 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties.
- BLS Certification.
