Role Overview
The Forklift driver will perform all functions related to receipt of goods, put-away into warehouse, replenishment of pick areas, manual order processing, order auditing, shipment preparation, pallet building, preparing raw materials in the appropriate quantities for production and ensuring products meet applicable quality standards. Responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks. Load / unload cargo and assist in warehouse operations as needed. All functions may require use of powered industrial trucks, SAP or RF as needed.
Areas of Responsibility
- Work in Probiotic warehouse and pharmacy room [cold storage] as well as regular pharmacy rooms.
- Return remaining raw materials after Pre-weigh processes complete according to warehouse specifications.
- Work with open raw materials.
- Follow all instructions on batch records and daily production schedule.
- Accurately weigh materials to a clean empty drum, operating (taring and zeroing) the scale between additions.
- Follow batch manufacturing record or pick slip for which raw materials to pull from the racks using a forklift truck.
- Required to read the ingredients list and follow it carefully as to not create off quality product.
- Ensures full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMP’s, Ethical Business Practice, and SOP’s at all times. Ensures documentation such as operation logs, batch records, etc. are fully completed, signed and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures that product meets applicable quality standards. This includes inspection for quality during weighing and measuring activities.
- Performs basic and routine maintenance activities.
- Cross-trains in other areas to be able to support the manufacturing process as needed.
- Disassembles, cleans / sanitizes, and reassembles all required equipment.
- Meets all safety expectations and follows all safety practices.
- Maintain proper gowning and hygiene to ensure integrity of the product as per cGMP’s and company policies.
- Must be able to work extended work hours and weekend overtime.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Performs shipping duties to include : Locating pallets to the dock, performing dock audits, verifying driver information, loading shipments on to trucks, properly filling out and signing BOL, tracking shipments, using SAP and RF as needed.
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are consistently followed.
- Responsible for maintaining and storing equipment, keys, refueling the truck, gas, expenses and to notify management of any breakdowns or maintenance issues.
- All drivers must be familiar with and perform a daily pre trip and post trip inspection on their truck.
- Performs shipping duties to include : Locating pallets to the dock, performing dock audits, verifying driver information, loading shipments on to trucks, properly filling out and signing
- Ensure safety and quality standards are consistently followed, comply with all DOT regulations.
- Ensures full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMP’s, Ethical Business Practice, and SOPs at all times. Ensures documentation such as operation logs, batch records, etc. are fully completed, signed and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
