Job Summary
The Assistant Rural Carrier delivers packages on Sundays and holidays. (May also assist with mail delivery on Saturdays.)
Responsibilities
- Delivers packages to customers along designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading mail and packages.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from customers during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues encountered during the route.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations while operating vehicles and handling mail.
- May be required to have a vehicle to deliver the route. If required to provide own vehicle, ARCs will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- A valid driver's license is required, along with a clean driving record.
