Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Mail Carrier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to handle heavy lifting, and proficiency in operating various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to designated routes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Load and unload mail from delivery vehicles, utilizing appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Maintain a high level of customer service by interacting positively with recipients and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Perform routine inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Manage the organization of mail within the vehicle for efficient delivery.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while driving and handling mail.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including sorting and preparing mail for delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service roles is preferred.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Experience with heavy lifting (up to 70 pounds) is required.
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures in a warehouse environment is beneficial.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
