Overview
The Rural Carrier Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires a dedicated individual who is comfortable working independently and has a strong commitment to customer service. The Rural Carrier Associate will operate a variety of vehicles, including box trucks, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining the integrity of the mail.
Duties
- Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Operate vehicles, including box trucks, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload mail and packages, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from customers during deliveries.
- Perform manual lifting of heavy items as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and returns, reporting any discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with moving items within warehouse settings when not on delivery routes.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission is preferred.
- Previous experience in courier services or commercial driving is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as required by the job duties.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or similar equipment is advantageous.
- Must be able to work independently while managing time efficiently to complete deliveries on schedule.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.38 - $21.00 per hour
