About: USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.
USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parents of rowers, masters rowers, adaptive rowers, collegiate rowers, indoor rowers and, most recently, coastal rowers.

Job Summary:
The 2025 USRowing Youth National Championships celebrates its 30th anniversary as one of the premier youth sporting events in the United States. Recognized as the SportsTravel Best Amateur Sports Event in 2023, this prestigious four-day competition showcases the talent and dedication of over 4,000 athletes and 1,000 coaches, drawing more than 5,000 spectators. With its vibrant atmosphere and inspiring performances, the Youth National Championships provides a unique opportunity to contribute to an event that embodies excellence, community, and the spirit of youth athletics. USRowing is seeking enthusiastic college students for a Guest Experience Team during the 2025 USRowing Youth National Championships. This opportunity is perfect for students looking to gain hands-on experience in event management and guest services while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. These volunteers will serve as part of the Guest Experience Team, ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience for athletes, families, and spectators at one of the nation’s premier sporting events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Services: Serve as the initial point of contact for guests as they arrive at the venue, providing directions, answering questions, and ensuring a welcoming experience.
- Event Hospitality: Manage guest check-in areas and ensure facilities remain organized and presentable.
- Spectator Interaction: Guide families and spectators to key areas such as viewing zones, dining options, and event highlights.
- Venue Support: Help maintain smooth operations by assisting with venue logistics.
- Problem Solving: Act as a liaison between guests and event staff, addressing concerns or escalating issues to supervisors when needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with USRowing staff and other volunteers to create a positive and memorable experience for all attendees.
- Additional Duties: Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Current college student, preferably pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- A proactive and friendly attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
- Availability for the full duration of the event (June 11–15, 2025).
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the event; travel expenses are not provided.
- Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
