Part-time position for Theater Technician available at the USS Lexington Museum.
The USS Lexington is a national treasure, having played a significant role in the nation’s defense for nearly 50 years. Her World War II record is second to none; as a place where Americans died in defense of freedom, she is a relic worth preserving. She continues to serve today as a museum and educational facility.
Scope: Responsible for the daily running and upkeep of the 3D MEGA Theater and its lobby.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect projection equipment prior to operation in order to ensure proper working order.
- Monitor operations to ensure that standards for sound and image projection quality are met
- Perform a variety of responsible technical duties associated with the digital projector, sound system, lights and air conditioning.
- Responsible for the washing of the 3D glasses and troubleshooting of the washer.
- Good customer service skills to welcome visitors to the theater and the general duties involved with handing out and collecting 3D glasses.
- Cleaning of the theater and lobby.
- General maintenance duties on the digital projector, AC units and upkeep of the seats and deck in the theater.
- Any other duties assigned by the Department Head.
Knowledge Required: Qualifications required
License/Certification Requirements: Valid Texas driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

The noise level in the environment is moderate the occasionally loud.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to file, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 10-20 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
