You Are:
UST is looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Java Full Stack Lead with solutioning and hands-on development experience for microservices for Web Applications. Your primary focus will be the development of all server side- logic in microservices and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests while integrating with the front-end. The lead will be responsible for participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle in the Digital Technologies organization for a leading healthcare provider in the United States. The candidate should have good experience leading teams. The candidate should be a proven self-starter with demonstrated ability to make decisions and accept responsibility and risk. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and IT leadership team is key to be successful in this role.
The Opportunity:
- Architect and design solutions for the backend for digital applications.
- Hands on development of webservices using java and Nodejs
- Experience with UI development is required. (Angular, HTML, CSS)
- Experience consuming REST services and an understanding of Swagger specifications.
- Experience with Java, Typescript and NodeJs microservices is an asset.
- Leads efforts with Web and marketing team to increase the presence of web products.
- Implement improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.
- Work within an Agile Scrum team and collaborating with developers, testers, product owner and scrum master
- Integrating with front-end technologies
- Hands on experience with automation scripts: Bamboo, Jenkins, AWS CLI, or other tools
- Follow application coding standards and best practices.
- Identify and resolve technical and process impediments preventing delivery teams from meeting delivery commitments
- Take a proactive approach to development work, working with peers and partners to strategic technical solutions in a complex IT environment
- Document functional/technical requirements and design based on requirements or objectives
- Align and collaborate with architects, other team leads, and IT leadership to develop technical architectural runways supporting upcoming features and capabilities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot performance and other issues.
- Evaluate potential changes and enhancements for objectives, scope and impact.
- Document functional/technical requirements and design based on requirements or objectives.
- Work with Infrastructure and cloud team to implement solutions
- Mentor peers on coding standards, patterns and strategy.
- Guide the team on best practices as well as perform code reviews.
- Build and maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.
- Partner with other IT teams during integration activities to facilitate successful implementations.
- Participate in on-call application support and respond to application issues when identified.
- Communicate effectively with technical peers in in a clear manner, while also being able to articulate complex solutions in ways nontechnical business partners can understand.

What you need:
- BA/BS degree or technical institute training or equivalent work experience
- Strong effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- 5 years combined of hands on experience in Node.js and microservices development
- Demonstrable experience in Core Java (1.8 or higher) and Spring framework (Core, AOP, Batch, JMS).
- Experience with UI development is required. (Angular, HTML, CSS)
- Strong experience in developing multi-threaded and synchronization application
- Strong experience required in Web Services (SOAP and REST).
- Prior experience with JMS/IBM MQ will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated delivery experience of Microservices APIs using Springboot
- Experience with Java Script is required.
- Experience in designing solutions
- Experience with AWS cloud is required.
- Experience with API Gateways / APIGEE is required.
- Understanding of security concerns and mitigation strategies for web development.
- Experience in agile environment
- Experience on working on Apache Kafka
- Strong experience on Mongo DB
- Experience with Sprint Boot, Maven, Bamboo and great debugging skills.
- Fluency with DevOps concepts, code deployment processes, server-less architectures, etc.
- Experience overseeing team members.

- The most successful candidates will also have experience in the following:
- Understanding of AWS products: Redis/Elasticache, Lambda, Api Gateway, EC2, VPC, S3, ELB, EBS, RDS, CloudWatch, and more
- Gitflow
- Atlassian products – BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence etc.
- Continuous Integration tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or TFS
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ohio
Compensation Range: $108,000-$163,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
