UST is looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Data Engineer with experience building enterprise data intelligence on Cloud platforms. The Data Engineer will be responsible for delivering quality reports and data intelligence solutions to the organization and assist client teams with drawing insights to make informed, data driven decisions for a leading Retailer in the United States.

Compensation Range: $108,000-$163,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

You Are
UST is looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Data Engineer with experience building enterprise data intelligence on Cloud platforms. The Data Engineer will be responsible for delivering quality reports and data intelligence solutions to the organization and assist client teams with drawing insights to make informed, data driven decisions for a leading Retailer in the United States.
The Opportunity
- Excepted to provide hands on software development for a large data project, hosted in a cloud environment.
- Develop and refine the technical architecture used with Teradata, Python, Spark and Hadoop development teams.
- Provide expertise in the development of estimates for EPICs and User Stories for planning and execution.
- Be able to help others break down large team goals into specific and manageable tasks.
- Be involved and supportive of agile sprint model of development, helping to enforce the practice and the discipline.
- Coach and mentor team members on Teradata, Python, Spark and Hadoop development best practices.
- Define and enforce application coding standards and best practices.
- Identify and resolve technical and process impediments preventing delivery teams from meeting delivery commitments.
What You Need
- BA/BS degree or technical institute training or equivalent work experience
- Microsoft Azure ( Portal, ADF, ASE, Functions, Event Hubs).
- Working knowledge on Teradata, DB2, Oracle and Sql Server.
- Working knowledge on Git, Jira, Conflunce
- Design experience with the migration pipelines from end to end for on prem to cloud.
- Experience with a range of Azure based big data & analytics platforms like ADLS, ADF, Azure Data Warehouse specifically ingestion to cloud storages/Data Lake.
- Azure Data Factory (ADF), Integration Run Time (IR), File System Data Ingestion, Relational Data Ingestion.
- Extract Transform and Load data from Sources Systems to Azure Data Storage services using a combination of Azure Data Factory, T-SQL and Spark SQL. Data Ingestion to one or more Azure Services - (Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Azure DW) and processing the data in In Azure Databricks.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure PaaS components like Azure Data Factories, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Lake Analytics using USQL, Azure App Services, Geo-Replication, Azure Application insights and SQL Data Warehouse.
- Strong development skills with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Blob, Azure Storage Explorer.
- Experience managing Big Data platform deployed in Azure Cloud.
- Experience managing Azure Data Lakes (ADLS) and Data Lake Analytics and an understanding of how to integrate with other Azure Services. Knowledge of USQL and how it can be used for data transformation as part of a cloud data integration strategy.
- Hands on Teradata, Python, Spark and Hadoop development experience
- Experience in agile environment
- Experience with Sprint Boot, Maven, Bamboo and great debugging skills.
- Great understanding with builds, software development and GIT.
- Strong effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- The most successful candidates will also have experience in the following:
- Gitflow
- Atlassian products – BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence etc.
- Continuous Integration tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or TFS
