Summary of Position
The Section League Program Manager oversees all aspects of the Florida Section Leagues Program, focusing on developing and executing local growth plans and strategies and ensuring quality play experiences at the local and sectional level.
Essential Functions
Team Management
· Works with Director of Adult Team and Local Play Coordinators to set team and local goals for the year; monitors performance and notes variances for management. Creates and conducts participant surveys and monitors customer feedback for trends/opportunities.
· Recruits, trains, hires and oversees all Local Play Coordinators, providing guidance and support, developing a training and mentorship program, and ensuring performance and culture standards are being met.
· Plan and execute a yearly workshop for staff and others who support the League program.
· Works with department to appropriately schedule and “staff” the successful delivery of all Section League Championships – using cross-functional teams of volunteers and employees, celebrating performance milestones and addressing issues when they arise.
· Attend and serve as Tournament Director a minimum of 7 section championship events to include at least 1 of each of the following divisions: Combo, Adult 55 , Mixed 40 , Adult 40 , Adult 18 , Mixed 18 , and Tri-Level.
Program Management
· Serve as the subject matter expert and power user on tech platforms and tools used in the League program and events, including TennisLink, Tennis Director, MatchApp.
· Manages the operational component of the League Grievance, Appeals and Medical Appeals Processes (Runs SRA), understanding the unique processes involved and communicating with all parties effectively and working with Adult Tennis Director to issue Suspension Points, when applicable.
· Monitors and researches safe play and other informational requests from USTA and/or legal representatives.
· Generates and manages all program reports, including DQs, Self-Rate Promotions, MoveUp-Split-Up, Membership Merge, Year-End Ratings and adjustment Watch List.
Overall Department Support
· Serves as a liaison between USTA and the Section on matters related to the National Program Administration, working collaboratively with the Adult Tennis Director – ensuring that Local Adult Tennis Play Coordinators are informed and advised regarding USTA League program and other team based adult program protocols, requirements, and regulations.
· Works with the Director of Adult Tennis to discuss and recommend changes in local league rules/regs to the Committee for consideration.
· Works and stays within event budgets by tracking program expenses and adhering to guidelines.
· Other duties as assigned by Director of Adult Tennis.

Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or related experience.
· Three years experience coordinating a state-wide sports and recreation league and the ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge of the policies, rules, regulations, systems and player rating systems (tennis preferred).
· Three years of management experience, preferably of diverse teams comprised of 5 or more people who work remotely.
· Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment dealing with conflict resolution
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards
· Must be able to travel and have reliable transportation
· Knowledge of USTA program policies, procedures, and systems.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Office 365, and Outlook
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed
· Must be able to read and write English
· Must have a professional and positive attitude
· Must be able to pass the USTA National Safe Play and USTA FL Section background checks
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of USTA League policies and procedures, including both Sectional and National rules and regulation/protocols
· Knowledge of USTA appeals, grievance, and disqualification policies and procedures
· Proficiency and in-depth knowledge of the Rules of Tennis (The Code) and the NTRP Dynamic Rating System required
· Detail oriented, and proactive
· Bilingual – verbal and written preferred

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Publisher & Webinar database program
