TITLE: Programming & Events Coordinator
POSITION STATUS Full Time
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN
REPORTS TO: Director of Competitive Tennis
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WHO YOU ARE:
The Programming & Events Coordinator will provide support for the Midwest Competition department including responsibilities pertaining to event planning for adult league play, adult competition, junior league play, and junior competition. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills and is able to work well independently as well as on a team. Knowledge of Google Suite is a plus. Must be able to work occasional hours and weekends, including early mornings and later evenings, outside of the regular work schedule.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:
- Coordinate logistics for various competition events such as league championships and tournaments, including but not limited to securing facilities, hotels, event staff, vendors, etc.
- Assist in running and/or managing an event desk for various adult and junior championships
- Ship equipment, awards, marketing items, and other materials as needed
- Assist with administrative responsibilities related to leagues and tournaments, including scheduling, facility payments, ball ordering and pick-up, etc.
- Prepare communications such as memos, emails, reports, and other correspondence as it pertains to USTA leagues and tournaments
- Update monthly participation reports
- Provide adult league scheduling assistance to districts
- Assist with player self-rate appeals, including compilation of data and notification of decisions
- Serve as digital support with TennisLink and Serve Tennis
- Serve as staff support for various Midwest adult and junior committees
- Various other job duties as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Four-year college degree is preferred
- Event management and/or hospitality experience preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills and/or experience with volunteers, required
- USTA League and/or tournament knowledge and playing experience preferred
- Administration of tennis programming, tournaments, or on court experience preferred
- Computer skills including Google Suite, TennisLink, and Serve Tennis preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with an attention to detail, requires
- Must be able to work occasional weekends, required
