The Role
The US Open Practice Court Desk Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and organized management of all practice court activities during the tournament. The Supervisor will oversee the practice court scheduling, manage staff, and ensure a smooth and positive experience for players, coaches, and other stakeholders.
Dates: Monday, August 4th - Monday, September 8th, 2025
- Manage the daily practice court sheets using the designated practice court booking software. This includes optimizing court usage, accommodating player requests, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
- Collaborate with the Director of Pro Tennis Operations and Player Relations to develop and refine practice court policies, ensuring fairness and efficiency.
- Oversee and train practice court desk staff in practice booking policies, proper use of the booking software, customer service protocols, and other relevant procedures. This includes monitoring staff shifts, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing support.
- Participate in planning calls leading up to the US Open, contributing to the development of practice court logistics, staffing plans, and contingency plans.
- Serve as a point of escalation for players and their representatives regarding practice court scheduling and related inquiries.
- Working with the park court and court attendants team, ensure practice courts are properly maintained and equipped.
- Generate reports on practice court usage, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Provide regular updates to the Director of Pro Tennis Operations.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues related to practice court scheduling, player requests, and staff management.
- Oversee the hitters program
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Pro Tennis Operations.
Who You Are
- Strong knowledge and following of current Professional Tennis including players, coaches, rankings, nuances of practice court times at at Grand Slam.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred (e.g., Sports Management, Business Administration).
- Experience in tennis operations or a related field
- Experience managing schedules and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Google Suite
- Experience with practice court booking software or similar scheduling systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of tennis rules and etiquette.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Fluency in a second language (preferred)
