We are seeking a Ball Person Supervisor who plays an essential role in the US Open guest experience. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a successful ball crew program including training, evaluating and supervising prior and during the US Open Tennis Championships.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the try out and callback recruitment process.
- Deliver the training program to the ball person crew.
- Assist with the daily management of the ball crew area during the tournament, including checking in and out, delivery of ball crew briefings, overseeing the court management procedure, oversee court assignments and any general enquires from the ball crew.
- Conduct daily performance assessments for ball crew allocated to your specific court via the provided technology.
- Provide individual and/or team feedback when required either by the ball crew or the ball crew leadership team
- Ensure that every team member receives their breaks as per the NY State Law.
- Staff must make themselves available for a minimum of 2 days during the training period.
- Attend full staff training day on date
- Attendance at the tournament specific meeting
- Attend the in person HR documentation verification session
- Attend the Uniform and Credential pick up day
Qualifications
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Punctual and presentable shift attendance, neatly groomed in a well maintained uniform.
- Must be able to meet the minimum availability requirement for staff training and tournament.
- Must be available days, nights, and weekends during the full duration of the US Open (approx. 3 week)
- Must complete the Safe Play modules.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment and during stressful situations
- Supervisor experience preferred
- Salary is $18-$20 per hour
