The Role
This role will be responsible for investigating and addressing non-sexual misconduct allegations and incidents arising under the Safe Play policies as well as maintaining and monitoring the Safe Play Disciplinary List. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement or investigations, a deep understanding of athlete safety principles, and a proven track record of conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
- Conduct prompt and thorough investigations into allegations of non-sexual misconduct involving athletes, coaches, officials, or other individuals arising out of the Safe Play policies associated with the USTA.
- Monitor and track the whereabouts of individuals listed on the Safe Play Disciplinary List addressing those violating USTA or U.S. Center for SafeSport sanctions.
- Monitor and address matters reported through the Safe Play reporting tool.
- Gather and analyze evidence for Safe Play (non-sexual) matters, including interviews, documents, electronic communications, and online activity.
- Specialize in investigating internet crimes such as cyberbullying, harassment, online impersonation, and other forms of digital misconduct that may impact athlete safety.
- Prepare comprehensive and objective investigative reports with clear findings and recommendations.
- Maintain detailed and confidential records of all investigations.
- Collaborate with the U.S. Center for SafeSport, Sectional Associations, and law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in athlete safety and online safety.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventative measures to promote a safe and positive environment for all athletes.
Who Are You
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement, investigations, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in handling internet crimes and online investigations.
- Strong understanding of athlete safety principles and relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent interviewing, analytical, and report writing skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to athlete well-being.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Position is Part-Time.
- This position is designated as "hybrid/flex" in NY.
What We Offer
The expected base salary for this position is $50,000 annually. This Position is Exempt.
