The Role
This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.
Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the Times Square Office
Hourly rate: $20.00
The Foundation Intern will support the development team in executing impactful fundraising events, conducting donor and prospect research, and contributing to Salesforce strategy and data management. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and donor relations while helping to drive the success of key fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide logistical support for fundraising events, including galas, special events, and campaigns.
- Assist with donor and prospect research to identify new giving opportunities and potential partners.
- Help manage donor data within Salesforce, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop strategies for engaging current and potential donors.
- Support the planning and coordination of fundraising activities, including event logistics, communications, and outreach efforts.
- Conduct research on corporate and individual donors giving trends and opportunities.
- Assist with preparing materials for donor engagement and stewardship, including event invitations, donor communications, and reports.
- Help track fundraising progress and analyze data to provide insights on donor trends and campaign effectiveness.
Who You Are
- Strong interest in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and donor engagement.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen ability to build relationships.
- Basic knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous event planning experience, particularly in a nonprofit setting, is preferred but not required.
