What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director position at UT Dallas?
This position will work closely with Director to foster and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal departments and external contacts; provide guidance to departments, employees and students on policies and procedures; responsible for managing and overseeing advising and immigration programs; handle special projects as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5-7 years related professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's Degree
- Experience with CRM tools and application databases such as Sunapsis, Terra Dotta, PeopleSoft, etc.
- 5-7 years of DSO (Designated School Official) experience needs to also be a minimum requirement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Management and oversight of advising services and immigration programs
Shared supervisory responsibility for team of International Student Advisor staff; direct supervisory responsibility for some within the team.
Collaborate with the Director to provide administrative functions including hiring, budgeting, strategic planning, goal setting, risk assessments, quality control, etc. Representing ISSO at administrative meetings and on committees and boards.
Handle escalated student or staff complaints that come to the ISSO through daily advising and processing functions. Make discretionary decisions on how to address ad-hoc customer requests.

Remote Notice : After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote / partly in-office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
