What are the responsibilities and job description for the Web Specialist position at UT Dallas?
Produces finished web pages, HTML emails and other electronic communication under the supervision of the Web Services Project Manager. Focuses primarily on admissions and academic communications, but will assist in other areas of the University's digital communication efforts.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years web-site authoring and maintenance experience.
The equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with one year of experience with WordPress (or other web-based content management systems)
- Experience developing HTML emails
- Experience using CRM software for mass emails
- Demonstrable knowledge of the CSS box model and selectors Web development experience within a large organization
- Knowledge of W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
- Experience at or familiarity with UT Dallas or other higher education institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Producing finished HTML pages using standardized web templates. Producing HTML emails, testing them and incorporating technical and editorial edits into a finished product. Monitor and respond to shared office inbox regarding web maintenance and support requests.
