The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife Resources, has one seasonal position (no benefits) available at the Provo River Delta Restoration Project in Springville, Utah. This appointment will last from approximately April 15 to October 30, 2025, with the possibility of an extension. Housing is not provided.
Examples of duties
Assist in the operation of the Provo River Delta Restoration Project by implementing a citizen stewardship volunteer program. Specific duties will include recruiting and supervising volunteers while implementing a variety of wildlife habitat improvements, including control of noxious weeds, equipment and facilities maintenance, fence construction and maintenance, irrigation, operation and maintenance of farm machinery, and some wildlife handling associated with waterfowl banding efforts. Additional duties include performing other duties as assigned.
Job requirements and skills
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid Utah driver’s license at time of employment and pass a criminal history background check. Applicants will be required to successfully complete the Utah Pesticide Applicator License Test. Successful applicants must have good organizational and communication skills; be capable of working independently and as part of a team (with supervision of work crews of up to 30 individuals); operating ATVs, four-wheel-drive vehicles and power tools; and towing and backing trailers. Successful applicants must be willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions, and be capable of lifting 50–100 lbs. Work schedules are Monday through Saturday, with occasional night/evening/weekend work. This position will be required to work at least two Saturdays a month.
