Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: UT Federal Credit Union Corporate Office
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the VP of HR, as the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be crucial in supporting the human resources department in various administrative and operational tasks. Your responsibilities will include assisting with recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, facilitating employee onboarding, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the HR department. This role is the primary point of contact for and offers critical support to candidates, hiring managers, and internal HR and business stakeholders to provide a world-class onboarding experience for newly hired employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Receives and posts new openings both internally and externally.
- Assists management with the development of recruiting plans.
- Conducts initial phone screenings with external applicants and advises applicants on current job openings and status.
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing employment applications and tracking applicant flow.
- Schedules and coordinates interviews between managers and candidates.
- Conducts all pre-employment screenings, including ordering credit reports, bondability, reference checks, and criminal background checks on applicants for employment.
- Provides job offer recommendations to the VP of Human Resources and engages in the offer negotiation process.
- Assists with new employee orientation, in-processing new employees, and other pre- and post-employment activities.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of employee training sessions, staff meetings, and credit union events.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating all past and current employees' HR records and conducting periodic reviews of these files to ensure the information contained within are current.
- Represents the credit union at job fairs annually.
- Support employees with benefits inquiries and enrollment.
- Performs any additional duties or projects assigned by the VP of Human Resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong knowledge of financial products and services.

- Technological skills and knowledge.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Maintains all personnel recruitment functions, reports, records, compliance requirements in an up‑to‑date and timely manner. Builds and maintains relationships with HR vendors and effectively utilizes the network to help accomplish goals.
Represents the credit union professionally at all times; exhibits above-average communication skills such as writing, public speaking, and networking; is comfortable in group settings; possesses excellent written communication skills. Must be highly motivated, independent, creative with good follow-up skills, energetic, and a self-starter. Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an integral part of the job.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Some knowledge of HR practices and regulations.
- Knowledge of Credit Unions or the financial industry is helpful but not required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to read reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, regulatory agencies, benefit providers, and others involved or associated with the human resources function.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must know all the benefits offered by the credit union and be able to describe them in some detail. Must be aware of how a credit union operates its policies regarding savings, lending, and checking account usage.
Needs to have a level of knowledge and understanding sufficient to communicate effectively to others, i.e., a well-informed credit union representative.
The employee must be able to use personal computer applications, an essential skill, including knowledge to use human resource management software, word processing software and spreadsheets.
