Job Title: Intermediate Care Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Summary
A night shift PRN position is available for a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at UT Health Athens. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work under limited supervision, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients' progress and prepare reports for nursing and medical staff.
- Record patients' vital signs, collect specimens for lab tests, and provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients' intake and output, assist with range of motion, and draw blood as needed.
- Coordinate daily activities for assigned units and participate in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Active certification in the State of Texas.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification, or completion of senior year of nursing school.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years' experience in acute or long-term care.
