- UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by the physics department.
- Perform manual calculations.
- Fabricate custom shielding blocks.
- Perform Q.A. checks and warm-up Linear Accelerators.
- Maintain constant communication with patients and family members to lend support and provide information concerning treatment.
- Responsible for supervising all phases of student clinical rotations.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved school of radiation therapy technology or a school of radiologic technology and a one-year radiation therapy program.
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy and licensed by the State of Texas.
