- Works under the direct supervisor of the assigned physician and manager of the clinic.
- Acts independently and in collaboration with medical staff.
- Supports the physician in the documentation of clinical activities.
- Ensure information in the patient’s record is sufficient to provide quality care and meet the standards of Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, third party payors and UT Health East Texas.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate from a medical assisting program, or medical transcription experience.
- BLS certification
- Experience working as a medical scribe
- Experience charting in an EMR
- Medical Terminology (i.e. Anatomy and Physiology)
