- UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
- Evaluates and assesses the patient based on subjective and objective information obtained through medical record review, formal and informal test administration with appropriate analysis and interpretationi of results to develop plan of care.
- Formulates writen functional measurable goals, treatment plans, and/or home programs for patient and families.
- Provides treatment according to established goals on treatment plan and reasseses patient's functional status when goals are met or there is a change in the patient's condition.
- Instructs/educates patients and families in appropriate activities and referral to community resources as appropriate, utilizing both verbal and written programs.
- Documents evaluations and progress in the medical record and maintains patient records as required.
- Communicates with patients, families and all healthcare professionals required to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care.
- Maintains skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care.
- Consults with Director concerning performance evaluations, promotion and counseling of employees as required.

- Conducts meetings with subordinates in order to review new techniques, explain changes in procedures, discuss problems, and exchange information.
- Studies current trends and new developments in physical medicine by survey of literature and attendance at professional meetings and conferences.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an APTA approved 4 year bachelor's degree program.
- New graduates accepted in acute, rehab, and outpatient settings. Home Health Rehab requires a minimum of 6 months experience.
- Current professional licensure; in the State of Texas. Home Health Rehab requires a current drivers license.
