RN Nurse Educator Behavioral Health-Full Time
Job Summary : The Clinical Educator carries out a plan of educational activities to enhance, promote, and maintain the standard of care within the hospital.Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks :
- Assesses and identifies learning need.
- Coordinates continuous comprehensive educational activities and research for employees.
- Develops and provides educational programs to improve critical thinking and professional skills of the staff at the bedside and in the management arenas.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of actions.
- Implements financial accountability for ongoing unit-based educational activities and evaluates outcomes based on learner feedback and budgetary guidelines.
- Maintains established standards of practice, implements professional development educational training for professional growth.
- Plans and implements appropriate interventions.
- Utilizes the values and principles of UT Health East Texas to develop unit-based educational activities and evaluates the effectiveness of these activities on an ongoing basis by assessing changes in clinical performance and improved customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies :
- Ability to keep detailed records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable and / or required formats.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with coworkers and functionally related teams.
- Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft office, technical drawings, cad.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and leadership skills.Required Education / Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- Five (5) years of critical care clinical experience.
- Familiarity with the organization and functions of other disciplines within the hospital.
- Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse.
- NLS from AHA.
- May accept a combination of education and experience.Preferred Education / Experience :
- Master's degree in nursing.
- Two (2) years of management and / or teaching experience.Working Environment :
- Standard office environment.
