Responsibilities
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform routine and special laboratory procedures, ensuring the accuracy of clinical laboratory testing. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, and inventory control
- Statistical compilation and data analysis
- Participating in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks
- Providing new employee training and proficiency testing as assigned
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician Studies or a related field (chemical, physical, or biological science)
- Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following certifications or experience will be given preference:
- ASCP certification within a specific area (M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP))
- Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist
