Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, responsible for independently applying clinical laboratory techniques in the performance of test procedures to provide data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.Responsibilities Performs standardized laboratory procedures and a variety of complex, analytical laboratory procedures within the area or section to which assigned; reviews test results for accuracy; completes reports. Evaluates and implements new or revised laboratory procedures and techniques. Reviews, interprets, and completes quality control procedures and technical troubleshooting. Performs weekly preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment. Accessions samples for in-house testing and referral laboratory testing. Helps secure media and supplies for research studies and manages trial supply requests. Secures media and supplies for clinical testing and research studies and manages supply requests. Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory / accrediting agencies. Performs all other duties as assigned.Qualifications Advanced technical skills in performing and analyzing various clinical laboratory tests and procedures. Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology and use of complex medical equipment. Excellent internal / external customer service. Ability to work in a Laboratory Information System. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
