The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing physical therapy evaluation/treatment, education, training, and orthotic/prosthetic device fitting, as well as the use of modalities and techniques for promoting the highest and safest level of function as ordered by the provider. Provides physical therapy services for a variety of patients throughout their continuum of care in a hospital setting. Promotes an environment that empowers patient-centered, goal-directed therapy care aligned with the mission, vision, and values of MSRH.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience is required. Inpatient setting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Review consult orders and ensure necessary precautions are identified to ensure appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment can be provided. 2. Evaluates muscle, joint, and mobility functions of patients with any disorder to determine appropriate physical therapy treatment plans. 3. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team to support patient care. 4. Develops and updates focused and individually designed treatment plans in collaboration with the patient/family, taking into consideration age, functional status, and lifestyle, with measurable short and long-term goals. 5. Utilizes independent clinical decision making daily to progress patients and modifies treatment depending upon specific needs and medical status. 6. Monitors patients throughout the provision of treatment and responds appropriately to changes in the patient's status. 7. Completes all relevant documentation within a timely manner and according to professional guidelines. 8. Establishes provisions for continuing services/follow-up as needed. 9. Prioritizes patients based on patient’s individual needs as well as colleague/surgeon/provider preference in accordance with MSRH protocols and procedures. 10. Utilize evidence-based framework to establish best practices for a wide variety of patients. 11. Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of physical therapy concepts, practices, and policies. 2. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport and trust. 3. Strong listening and speaking skills and ability to motivate others. 5. Ability to demonstrate sound clinical judgement in the synthesis of complex evaluation data. 6. Ability to develop a comprehensive plan of care, with a dedication to patient success. 7. Identifies and provides appropriate methods to educate patients so that environmental constraints, learning barriers, and cultural factors are successfully addressed. 8. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability based on each unit’s physical therapy needs and caseload requirements.
- Doctoral, Masters, or bachelor's degree in physical therapy is Required
- Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners is Required.

- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
