What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist- Senior (Radiology Imaging) position at UT Health San Antonio?
Job Description
Under limited supervision, responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to include advanced imaging by optimizing MRI equipment software configuration, hardware, coils and accessories. May lead or mentor lower level team members.
Schedule: Every other Saturday( 8am-7pm) and Sunday 9am-1pm.
Responsibilities
Assists with quality control of the MRI department and ensures employees within the department are proficient in performing and maintaining quality control testing and documentation for accreditation and other regulatory bodies.
Ensures all MRI technologists are properly trained and proficient on all equipment and advanced imaging techniques.
Stays abreast of all technology advances/techniques in the field of MRI and with the cooperation of the Manager, implements necessary modifications into the daily MRI workflow.
Sets quality control and quality assurance protocols as required by JCAHO, ACR, OSHA, TDH and other agencies as applicable.
Maintains and performs preventive maintenance for the MRI equipment.
Assists with establishing and conducting department quality in services to include collaborating, implementing, and monitoring the department CQI plan and ACR QA/QC programs.
Qualifications
Performs all other duties as assigned.
In depth knowledge in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, all peripheral hardware and all devices used in MRI.
Advanced working knowledge in patient care, MRI safety, and IV starts.
Ability to arrive at accurate conclusions and solutions by visualizing new potentials, and by identifying, defining and analyzing problems and situations using rational and intuitive processes.
Builds and maintains positive working relationships with individuals, work groups, and across departments, through open communication and collaboration; works with others to accomplish goals and objectives.
Experience
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Education
Six (6) years of job related experience is required.
Associate's Degree degree and graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology is required.
Additional Licenses/Certification
Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) Certification from Texas Department of Health, American Registration of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), or Advanced Certification in MRI (MR) is required.
