Job Description
Responsible for providing Speech Language Pathology evaluation/treatment, education, training, and testing as well as use of modalities and techniques within scope of practice to promote highest level and safe function as ordered by provider. The Speech Language Pathologist provides services for a variety of patients throughout their continuum of care at MSRH including oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, ENT, urology, spine, thoracic surgery patient populations, and others as acquired.
Responsibilities
EDUCATION:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience after Clinical Fellowship Year(CFY) is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
Certification And Licensure
CCC SLP Certificate Clinic Competence in Speech Language Pathology required
SLP Licensed Speech Language Pathology Upon Hire Req
BLS Basic Life Support Required

Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients and utilizes a wide variety of therapeutic techniques to assist with progressing and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Performs evaluations with special attention to swallowing abilities and oral feeding before discharging.
- Documents test results and develops individualized treatment plans which will enhance the patient's abilities in communication and swallowing.
- Confers with associates and institutes treatment utilizing corrective exercises and specialized equipment.
- Maintains active support and communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, home programs, and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
- Provides patient and parent/caregiver education and training for home exercise programs when appropriate.
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of MSRH, with a demonstrated ability to demonstrate a culture of relationship-based care.
- Prioritizes patients based on patient’s individual needs as well as colleague/surgeon/provider preference in accordance with MSRH protocols and procedures.
- Utilizes evidence-based framework to establish best practices for a wide variety of patients
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
