Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking an expert in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), program evaluation, and dissemination and implementation science for a full-time faculty position in San Antonio, Texas. The appointment level is open rank. The applicant must have a doctoral degree in psychology, behavioral sciences, social sciences, measurement and evaluation, program evaluation, or related field. This position includes research grant submissions and provides the opportunity to pursue independent research/program interests. The most highly qualified candidates are those who have extensive experience and qualification as a trainer in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. The faculty appointment will be within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science and Joe R. & Teresa Lozano-Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. This position will involve supporting research within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science and the Division of Behavioral Medicine. The Department has an established history of grant funding in the areas of PTSD, training and dissemination, child psychiatry, substance use disorders, and behavioral medicine. Preference will be given to candidates who compliment one or more departmental areas of strength and/or have a history of demonstrated scholarly productivity.
This position will involve supporting the South Texas Research Organizational Network Guiding Studies on Trauma and Resilience (STRONG STAR) Consortium and the grant-funded STRONG STAR Training Initiative. The position will also support various other extramurally funded research projects focused PTSD treatment and dissemination and implementation. The STRONG STAR Training Initiative conducts competency-based training programs for community mental health clinicians in evidence-based treatments for PTSD, suicide, and other related disorders. The position will contribute to efforts to develop novel, scalable fidelity monitoring methods for evidence-based treatments. The position will provide support in evaluating program needs and outcomes. Travel is estimated at 20%.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience or strong specialization in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Experience and qualification as a trainer in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD
Experience with program evaluation and quality assurance strategies
Experience in grant submissions
Board certification in respective board
A history of publications in peer-reviewed journals

Benefits Overview
UT Health San Antonio offers an excellent benefits package for its employees. Employees who work at least 20 hours a week, with an appointment of at least 4.5 months, are eligible for benefits.

TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:
Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each fiscal year.
FSAs- Employees can enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to set aside money from earnings before taxes for qualifying dependent day care expenses or out-of-pocket health care expenses.
